Replace your pump in your shallow or deep well with the Superior Pump 94715 3/4 HP Jet Pump. It features an adjustable pressure switch, thermal overload protection and a dual voltage motor. It'll last you over time with a cast iron pump body that works with wells up to 80 ft. deep. It also comes with an ejector kit and owner's manual.
May 13, 2009. #2. That adjustment is probably a manual backpressure regulator. It's used to in the case of the manual regulator to get the prime. Once primed, it's opened up all the way. It's only used on a deep well system. On a shallow well system like yours, it's left open all the time. A jet pump can make a max of 60 psi in most cases.

Locate the large spring and turn the nut clockwise to raise both the cut-in pressure and the cut-out pressure. To lower the cut-in point and the cut-out point, turn the nut counterclockwise. Rotating the nut once should adjust the cut-in and cut-off pressures by 2-3 PSI. Adjust the tank's air charge.
Standard pressure systems rely on a set pressure setting to determine when the well pump turns on and off. With the low number representing the PSI that turns the pump on, and the high number representing the PSI that turns the pump off, typical pressure settings on a standard pressure system are 20/40, 30/50, or 40/60.

As was said, if the pressure switch line is getting clogged at the pump, move the pressure switch to the tank where it should be anyway. Just install a regular 1/4" lower pressure switch at the tank and wire around the existing switch on the tank as shown in the "jet pump" wiring here. View attachment 78472
